JSE Ocean welcomes new partners to establish commercial liquefied hydrogen supply chain

On September 12, major shipping companies Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) joined JSE Ocean, a subsidiary of Japan Suiso Energy, Ltd. to establish the commercial-scale marine transport of liquefied hydrogen (LH2) from Australia to Japan.

The new partnership will develop a reliable and efficient marine transportation business scheme with an innovative hydrogen-powered liquefied hydrogen carrier.

Once built, this vessel will support the commercial scale liquefied hydrogen supply chain by shipping LH2 from Port of Hastings to Kawasaki City, Japan.
